The Basics
Northern Maine roots and more than a touch of wanderlust set the stage for my life. While raising a family, I called Boston home. I have had diverse careers in software development, enterprise software sales and even opened an award winning fitness studio. 2016 marked a new chapter when I pulled up roots and relocated to the UK.
Reading
I developed an early love for reading and writing, a passion I eagerly shared with my kids. We'd spend countless hours at used bookstores, hauling home bags brimming with well-worn paperbacks. There's nothing quite like the feel and smell of a used book. One that has an airline ticket bookmark from the nineteen-nineties stuck inside is just the best. And the ability to fling a novel with a disappointing ending across the room is a definite perk! Recently, I've begrudgingly entered the digital age with an e-reader. I love the convenience and portability but I do miss the occasional book-throwing tantrum.
My reading tastes are broad, but I gravitate towards character-driven fiction with witty dialogue, think Elmore Leonard. That said, multi-generational sagas, historical fiction, sci-fi, straight up page turners, I’ll read them all.
Writing
At 26, fueled by countless short stories, I penned my first novel—a 225,000-word behemoth. I was certain literary stardom awaited. In hindsight, it was a glorious mess—a captivating story, but structurally...chaotic. I still love that manuscript, though! Since then, writing has been a chronic passion—a compulsion to translate the ideas swirling in my head onto paper or screen. Now that I have more time in my life, I have refocused my writing energies. I find the process of taking a raw idea and a blank page and turning it into a coherent, exciting story profoundly satisfying.
Staying Sane
I've been incredibly lucky to explore over 110 countries across six continents. When I'm not busy with my day job, you'll find me immersed in writing books and software, hitting the slopes, or planning my next adventure.
A lifelong New England Patriots fan, I spent nearly two decades cheering them on at Gillette Stadium. While I enjoy a live Premier League match, nothing beats the fun of tailgating before enjoying a raucous Patriots game.
I also have a deep love for the outdoors. There's something truly special about a remote wilderness hunting trip with my family.
Currently, when I’m not hard at work finding a literary agent to represent my latest series, I’m probably rambling across the Surrey countryside with my two mini schnauzers.
